How to achieve DREAMY look in your videos: Camera Setting Aperture F2.8 FPS 160 Shutter Speed 1/120 ISO 800 base ISO S-LOG3 Camera: Sony A7R5 Lens: Blazar Remus 45MM Filter: I use davinci for bloom Light: Ambient Environment Lights Editing Software: Davinci Resolve 1. LUT When I shoot with Sony Cameras I use S-LOG3 flat picture profile, then convert to REC709 using my own LUT in my monitor to preview the final approximation of the end result. 2. EXPOSURE When shooting in S-LOG you want to meter your exposure not as you usually do with photography where it’s ok to show underexposed for RAW, slog is another reality, so make sure you meter your light, expose correctly, don’t clip highlights and monitor your raw footage in slog with a LUT monitor like átomos ninja. 3. MASK I use Davinci AI masking to assist with the masking of the subject then this allows me to separate the background which I make darker to lower the highlights and helps me make a more saturated look while keeping the subject better exposed while retaining skin tones. 4. DREAMY That dreamy film look for me is everything, it allows your story to be told in a more interesting way, to achieve this look there are many ways, one of them is using a Tiffen Black Pro mist filter, I personally don’t use this method much, not because I don’t like it it’s just because I am already using an ND filter in my video camera and it’s too much hustle putting it, my best approach is to achieve this look in davinci with Glow and Halation. (Uploaded Screenshot of my settings in my Story Highlights) 5. EXPORT Export settings I use 4K UHD, with 80,000 bits/s Let me know if you have any questions in the comment. iPhone 15 Pro Max 💍🤵🤵‍♀️

Can you believe this was all shot with an iPhone? Creatives sometimes get crazy for the gear, thinking more expensive rigs can make your work better or more cinematic, and although there is some truth in that, this only applies let’s say to Hollywood level, unless you are Gregg Frazer and you are shooting a 100 million dollar Hollywood film on a Sony FX3.

Anyways stick to your medium you feel the most confortable, remember the most important part of story telling is the lens that helps shape your story or mood, the camera is the vehicle that will drive your story, and last and most important you are the most valuable asset, it’s you the one that puts everything together!!

I sometimes take some behind scenes of my clients during our shoot, I literary only took 5 clips in less than 5 minutes total and you have a story.
